This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. A very typical sound-scape of an open field, bordered by the large shawnee national forest. A warm day in june, with a lot of birds, and, if you listen to the higher frequencies, in the background always there, are the ever-present insects. Recorded in june 2009 around 11:00 in the morning. Tempurature was about 78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This is also interesting in that it shows how, early in the summer, the bird vocalizations often are louder than the insects, but, as the summer goes on, this is reversed. . In this recording you can hear book pages being turned manually at a slow but stable rhythm, at the library la fraternitat in la barceloneta. You can hear the page sliding agains other pages, creating a sound that almost reminds us of a knife; and the noise of the page being laid down. I recorded this while searching for farm sounds. On the recording you can hear footsteps in the grass, then the opening of the latch in the gate to the field and then further steps. The beautiful, simple call of the field cricket is one of my favorite insect sounds. In late summer though the huge choruses of katydids and cicadas often drown out the simple beauty of this love song. Later, as the season progresses into fall and the temps dip to where the cicadas and katydids no longer sing, these simple, beautiful field cricket calls still last up to the time that the days just can't stay warm any longer. I like to see how late into the season i can hear these guys---something just hauntingly mesmerizing hearing this sound and no other on a mild autumn day, after a cold night. . Dry ice dumped in a small fountain and recorded with an r-09hr. The bubbles sound very frantic and are continuous. I couldn't get too close, or else the splashing would have entered the mic capsules. It is a very clear sound nonetheless.

From under a concrete bridge, the sound of cars driving at a fairly high speed over the decking. Unlike some similar bridges, this one does not produce any loose metal clanking at the joints and there is very little flange to the sound as the cars pass.
